01 Overview
About this format
Pavers are small-format units for exterior paving: terraces, paths, courtyards and plazas. The range includes cobblestone pavers, and our photographs also show shaped units such as interlocking, elongated hexagon and I-shaped pieces. Travertine pavers are a standard format.
Paving units are laid on a prepared base in sand or mortar, so their size, thickness and edge detail follow the laying method and the load. Cobblestone pavers give a traditional, irregular look. Shaped units interlock and set a pattern. Send the shape you want and we confirm what can be produced.
Outdoors, the finish and the pore treatment matter as much as the stone. Textured finishes such as bush-hammered or antiqued give more grip than a smooth surface. Unfilled pores keep a natural texture but hold more water and dirt; filled pores give a more closed surface. Frost and de-icing salt behaviour depends on the deposit and the finish, so ask for test data for your climate.
State the load: pedestrian only, or occasional vehicles. It decides the thickness and the base. Give the laying pattern, the joint width and the area in the unit you work in, and we quote against it.

Not every finish suits every use. For stairs and exterior paving, check slip resistance against test data.
