Questions and answers

Answers on ordering, samples, materials, logistics and technical questions: what an RFQ needs, delivery terms, packing, vein cut and cross cut, and test data.

01 Ordering

Ordering

Quotations, files, minimum quantities and delivery terms.

01 What should I include in a request for quotation?

State the stone and tone, the format, the finish, the dimensions and thickness, the quantity with its unit, and the destination. For travertine, add the cut (vein cut or cross cut) and the pore treatment (filled or unfilled). Attach drawings or a schedule if you have them. If a detail is not decided yet, say so and we will ask the right questions.

02 What is the minimum order quantity?

It depends on the stone, the format and the finish. Tell us the quantity you have in mind and we confirm what is possible for that stone and format.

03 Which delivery terms can you quote?

Tell us the delivery terms you prefer and the destination. We confirm the delivery basis in the quotation.

04 How long do production and delivery take?

It depends on the stone, the format, the finish, the quantity and the destination. We confirm the timing in the quotation, so state the date you need the material when you send the enquiry.

05 Which files can I attach to a request?

The RFQ form accepts PDF, DWG, DXF, XLSX, XLS, CSV, DOCX, JPG, PNG and ZIP files. Drawings, cutting lists, schedules and reference photographs all help us quote accurately. Use a ZIP file to send several documents together.

06 Can you make pieces to our drawings?

Yes. Cut-to-size pieces and architectural elements are made to drawings: steps, sills, cornices, mouldings, balusters, capitals, columns, carved panels and basins. Travertine is a standard format; tuff and basalt are quoted on request. Send dimensioned drawings in PDF, DWG or DXF.

02 Materials

Materials

Where the stone comes from, and how the cut and the pores change it.

01 Where does your travertine come from?

From our own quarry at the Ararat deposit in Armenia. The stone is supplied as blocks or processed into slabs, tiles, pavers, steps and elements made to drawings.

02 Where do your tuff and basalt come from?

Tuff and basalt are supplied through partner quarries in Armenia. Tell us the stone, tone, format and finish you need and we confirm what can be supplied. Name the stone in every enquiry: black tuff and basalt are both dark, but they are different stones.

03 What is the difference between vein cut and cross cut travertine?

Travertine forms in layers. Vein cut is sawn so that the layers appear as long, roughly parallel bands. Cross cut is sawn in the other orientation, which shows the layers as a cloudier, mottled pattern. Both are standard for our travertine. Approve a sample or photograph of the cut you want.

04 Should travertine pores be filled or unfilled?

It depends on the look and the use. Filled pores give a flat, closed surface that is easier to clean and is usual for polished and honed finishes. Unfilled pores keep the natural voids and a more textured look, often chosen where an open, rustic surface is wanted. Both are standard for our travertine; say which you need in the enquiry.

03 Samples

Samples

How to request samples and what a sample tells you.

01 How can I request samples?

Use the sample request form. Tell us the stone, tone, finish and size you want to see, and for travertine the cut and pore treatment. Samples are prepared from current production, and we confirm what we can prepare for your request.

02 Will my order match the approved sample exactly?

Natural stone varies in tone and pattern, between blocks and within a block, so a sample is a reference rather than an exact match. Agree how much variation is acceptable. For large areas, ask for material from the same lot and blend packs during installation. We confirm in the quotation how supply is prepared for your project.

04 Logistics

Logistics

Packing for export and delivery to your country.

01 How is stone packed for export?

Packing depends on the product: blocks, slabs, tiles and shaped pieces are protected and secured differently. Export packing uses ISPM-15 treated timber where the destination requires it. State any special packing or marking requirement in the enquiry, and we confirm the packing for your order.

02 How do you handle delivery to my country?

Export orders are quoted for each destination. Tell us the country, the port or the site address, and the delivery terms you prefer. We confirm the route and the delivery basis in the quotation.

05 Technical

Technical

Documentation and what to check before you specify.

01 Can you provide technical data sheets and test reports?

Technical documentation is provided with quotations when available for the selected stone. If your project needs specific tests, such as water absorption, flexural strength or slip resistance, list them in the enquiry so we can tell you what is available.

02 What should I check before specifying stone outdoors?

Check the slip resistance of the finished surface, frost and de-icing salt exposure, water absorption, the thickness your fixing or bedding system needs, and tone consistency across the area. Performance depends on the specific deposit, the finish and the installation, so confirm test data for your climate and use.
